For the first time in the market, asensus now helps you govern server recovery tests by customized policy documents.
In the RMC portal, specific Service Level Agreements (SLA) are defined to reflect the customer's requirements of Recovery Frequency combined with Recovery Time for the specific production server under recovery contract.
Using the RMC portal you associate the recovery profile for a specific production server with a (customized) recovery policy. Once these two components are linked, RMC manages the correct scheduling of recovery jobs, for instance executing recovery test 24 times per year (every two weeks). Furthermore, the compliance reporting constantly matches recovery time results with the associated policy.
How to work with SLA-based server recovery in the RMC
Customize your recovery policies (SLAs) in RMC.
In RMC, define the recovery policies, setting recovery frequency and expected recovery time. You can define as many as needed, matching the requirements from your customers, reflecting different levels of server criticality.
Link the policy with the production server to be tested.
Once policies have been defined, simply link a policy to each production server needing server recovery testing on a SMARTtsm platform. RMC will automatically ensure correct scheduling of recovery jobs over the year for the server in question. Furthermore, RMC monitors and compares recovery time results with ditto defined in the SLA policy. (note: you can also schedule server recovery manually).
Monitor recovery results in RMC.
With recovery SLA policies defined and recovery jobs configured, the RMC Dashboard provides a quick compliance view. Other specific, server drill-down reports detail on individual server recovery testing.
